Scholarship recipient mentors students preparing for the next step
In February 2012 , Vivian Hui, our CEMF Undergraduate scholarship winner for 2011, was invited to participate at the Durham Asian Culture Association (DACA) in a Student Mentoring Workshop. Vivian spoke to the Grade 7-8 students who are entering high school and high school students entering university this September about the role of leadership, and her experiences growing up – leading up to her receiving a CEMF scholarship. The workshop was designed to help students plan their career path, and allow open dialogue with guest speakers who have shared similar experiences.
We are privileged to have past, present and future scholarship recipients like Vivian, contribute to their communities and educate youth on their experiences serving as both role models and ambassadors for the profession. Their successes make us proud to continue to represent the leaders of tomorrow through our scholarship initiatives. Congratulations to Vivian and the members of DACA for a successful event.
